Finished up another commissioned paint job yesterday. Here’s a look at Be’lakor, the first Daemon Prince!

Let me know what you think!

I picked up the new Codex: Imperial Knights yesterday; I’m looking forward to putting the big boys on the table soon and I will be posting a brief review of the codex once I finish reading all the way through it. I’m also doing a bunch of work on my Slaaneshi Chaos Space Marines this week to get them ready for a teams tourney, so I should have some fun pictures of those coming soon.

  1. Looks great! I am very fond of this model and may one day get one for myself. Is that the new GW ‘crackling’ paint on the base?

Yup, that is indeed the new crackling paint from GW. I painted some doombull brown onto the base beforehand since what is underneath shows up through the cracks. I painted the crackle paint on rather thick and then hit it with a hairdryer on low heat to dry it faster. I had found through experimentation that the hairdryer method made a better crackle result.
Once the crackle paint had dried for a few hours I applied a generous coat of Lahmian medium to keep it from flaking off. Once it had dried overnight, I gave it a light dry brushing of ushabti bone to bring out the texture of it.
