A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that I had a handful of models I wanted to finish up in time for Gen Con, so I called upon the citizens of the internet to heap their shame, scorn, and derision upon me if between then and Gen Con I failed to present at least one of the models I had mentioned in its fully painted glory. I have already presented you with Joss and some Silurids, well now I present to you the Blessed of December! As you can tell by its name, this model goes along with my Children of December crew for Malifaux, but as it’s a beast it also pairs up quite well with my Marcus crew.

For those not familiar with Malifaux, the Blessed of December was once one of the priestesses of the Tyrant entity December, she who was then imbued with the raw power of December and transformed into what you see here–a kind of half-wendigo, half-woman monster. I’m certain there’s more back story than just that, but I’m not the expert on every little nugget of Malifaux lore.

What I do know is that I wasn’t really a fan of this model until I started painting it. I thought it was kinda creepy with its saggy boobs and lanky limbs, but once I got going on the painting I really did start to like the model. I am quite happy with how this model turned out; she looks great next to the rest of my Cult of December.

Now that I’ve fulfilled my painting obligation for the week, I once again call up you to heap your shame, scorn, and derision upon me if I fail to present another finished miniature by Friday, July 17th. There are only two models left of the original seven models I wanted to finish off prior to Gen Con, but I have already added at least six models to the list of those I want to finish, so I need to keep my brush going. I must be ready for Gen Con!
