WiPWednesday 9-2

It’s been too long since I posted anything and I feel like I have been slacking off a little, so I am here today to announce my newest posting tradition: Work in Progress Wednesdays! It’s just like Throwback Thursdays, but instead of seeing the past you get a glimpse into the future! This is also to keep me going on the goal I set myself at the top of the year of doing at least 15 minutes of hobby work every day; I’ve been slacking off on that a bit in the weeks following Gen Con (possibly due to the flurry of painting I did in preparation of Gen Con).

I haven’t been completely lax in my hobbying though, although it has mostly been done in long stretches over the weekends. I have managed to get a large portion of the Malifaux models I picked up at Gen Con built, so you will be seeing several of those in the coming weeks. Not everything you see above is stuff that I picked up at Gen Con; with the release of the Shifting Loyalties book for Malifaux, the older Avatar models have become tournament legal proxies for the Emissaries of Fate. This means that I want to finish painting Rasputina’s avatar as soon as possible so that I can get the Arcane Emissary to the table–its rules are ridiculously awesome. Here’s a look at how it’s coming a long so far:

With the completion of Gen Con, I have also taken up doing a little commission painting work again. I picked up the Sigismund model from Forge World for a friend and he has commissioned me to paint it for him. I’m really excited to get going with commission work again. I also made the deal with some friends that if they picked up a crew and got started in Malifaux, I would paint their first crew for them free of charge; turns out that was the motivation they needed to give my favorite game a try! All of this should get my butt in gear, so keep your eyes peeled for more awesome models soon!
